About
Dr. Chris Watson
Clinical Psychologist in London, Ontario
I am a Ph.D. level clinical psychologist with specialized training in cognitive behaviour therapy for a wide variety of issues. I provide individual therapy for adults ages eighteen and older.
CBT is an evidenced-based therapy that has been shown to lead to substantial improvements for many different types of problems. My primary goal is to help clients achieve personal goals and become more confident in managing their areas of difficulty. Therapy is provided in a supportive, confidential and professional environment.
I am a registered clinical psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (#4727), and I am certified in cognitive behaviour therapy by the Canadian Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies (CACBT-ACTCC). I have additional training in mindfulness and acceptance-based treatment approaches.
I completed my Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Waterloo in 2008, after graduating summa cum laude from McMaster University. I have also received specialized training in CBT at the Anxiety Treatment and Research Centre in Hamilton, Ontario. For the past decade I provided psychological services at Archways Centre for CBT. I have worked previously as a school psychologist with the Thames Valley District School Board and as a clinical psychologist with the Child and Parent Resource Institute.
In addition to my clinical work, I have published peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters in the areas of bipolar disorder, depressive personality disorder, narcissistic personality disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and social anxiety disorder.
